The J3’s were the only group to accomplish a race, unfortunately, over the weekend and Okemo’s Hayley Best and Will Humphrey led the field after 2 challenging runs on the Screaming Eagle Trail.  Killington’s Angie Lucian was 2nd, followed by Suicide 6’s Annie Leiter for 3rd place. In 4th through 8th were Okemo’s Emma Leblanc, Caitlin Mitchell (1st run winner), Hadley Siegel, Lauren Peirce, and Ashby Sussman. 9th place went to KSC’s Karly Acker and rounding out the top 10 was Pico’s Allison Visconti.

Following Humphrey’s gold medal was Killington’s Jim Ryan (2nd run winner), Okemo’s LJ LuBow, 4th through 7th were Killington’s Shane Hedlund, Chad Naro, Colin Palma, and Edward Mele. In 9th was Okemo’s

James Greenwood and in 10 place was team mate Myles Trainer.

In a close contest Okemo took home the banner. On a sad note Okemo’s CJ Pierro suffered a season ending knee injury on the first run coming down the pitch.

The NORDICA Ross Series race scheduled at Okemo for last Saturday was postponed but this Saturday races will be held at both Ascutney and Quechee. Racing at Ascutney will be Okemo 1 and 2, along with Suicide 6. Over at Quechee will be Pico, Killington and Middlebury.  Please send coaches’ names along with rosters to the appropriate venue

The NORDICA Jones Series race at Killington was postponed from Sunday and will be made up this Saturday, the 21st. It will be a GS on Lower Highline and the start order will be off the club lists. On Sunday the

NORDICA Jones Series will move to Okemo where the J4’s will race SG on the Chief Trail after training in the morning.  The running order will be determined by the best place point from Ascutney’s race and only the 1st race will count towards the standings.

** On Saturday the 28th of January Suicide 6 will be hosting a slalom race on the Face Trail to make up for losing a slalom event at Killington. Further information will be forthcoming regarding that race.

This Sunday the NORDICA J3’s race GS at the Middlebury Snow Bowl and the new “flip 15” format will be utilized using the best 2 of 6 place points to date. The top 15 J3’s will be flipped both runs so the number 1 boy and girl will race 15th both runs.  On Monday, the J3 tour will travel to Okemo for their SG race, consisting of a training run in the morning and a race beginning around noontime. The entry fee will be $25 and the running order will be the same as at Middlebury but only flipping the top 5 for boys and girls.  On Tuesday morning the MVC ERS Team will be picked using Ascutney, Middlebury and Okemo races, the best 2 of 7 place points. 8 boys and 8 girls will be selected for the events at Waterville Vallley, NH the following weekend.
